Trying to explain this reminds me of when I had to explain a painting I made in high school in front of a bunch of parents at a school art framing event, and I could only really say, “Hi. I like robots, and um…I painted this,” and then my friend’s dad yelled, “On drugs!” I mean…you get it, right? I don’t have to explain this, do I? I knew you understood.

The penguin. I think the scene in the Adam West movie where he’s in disguise and neither Batman nor Robin can verify his identify because he’s put plastic over his fingerprints is really my favorite Penguin moment. I can’t watch Batman Returns without thinking of Frank Reynolds at this point…

Jervis Tetch, pervy letch. I’m sure this character has had a rich and storied history in comics, but him getting his skull cracked open in Final Crisis for aiding in the abduction of a bunch of little kids might be my personal high point.

Scarecrow…I felt the need to draw most of the bat-villains at least once, as I just haven’t ever. I borrowed elements of a few scarecrow designs here and there and mashed them into sort of a mess whose constituent parts I really like.

How better to ring in #100, than with the Joker taking it to the…rim? He’s just totally making basketball points, that guy. However they say it, in basketball matches.
I can’t believe I’ve done 100 of these. I can’t believe I’ve gotten so much better at it since I started. Doing this has done wonders for my drawing skills, has been so much fun and has produced a huge pile of drawings of (mostly) Batman. Now, for 100 more, quasi-daily.

Batty, batty Bats. I feel like I might end up doing a slew of “too much joker gas” BMOTD’s…got an ink brush pen at C2E2 this weekend and saw a pro kicking ass with one. So here I am, slinging slop. Fun, though.
